brussel sprouts sort of braised in white balsamic and butter

my new favourite way to make brussel sprouts…

2 dozen brussel sprouts, cleaned, and halved
2 tbsp butter, cut into pieces
2 tbsp of white balsamic vinegar, or more to taste
Fresh ground pepper to taste.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (with convection if you like). Add ingredients to a pyrex dish. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

  1. looks yummy and way virtuous. much better than my usual disguised sprouts (for non-fans, I like them plain ;-). Must limit this veggie to no more than 3x weekly…

  2. Turned out lovely – thank you. Had some leftover, and incorporated them into a one-dish supper the second night where their tang gave just the right accent:

note: since the braised balsamic sprouts already were cooked it made this a speedy dish starting at the second part of the recipe, and in both cases we reduced oil and butter and nothing suffered. used mushroom stock.
